CENTERPORT, N.Y. (May 24, 2018) – The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum will hold its seventh annual summer benefit event, Summer Fiesta, on Saturday, July 21, 6:30-10 p.m. in the beautiful Spanish-Revival courtyard of the Vanderbilt Mansion. (Rain location: Celebration Tent.)

The evening of wine, food, music and dancing is the year’s most important fundraiser for Museum education programs and the Vanderbilt Learning Center.

The restaurant Sangria 71 (Commack) will cater passed hors d’oeuvres, a five-foot paella, and dinner. The menu will include chicken, salmon, fish and skirt steak – plus margaritas, sangria, wine and beer. Dress code: Dressy with cobblestone-friendly shoes.

Tickets: $135 nonmembers, $125 members. Tables for 10 at $1,215 available with early purchase, before June 22.

Summer Fiesta is a salute to William and Rosamond Vanderbilt and friends Edie and Robert Huntington who flew around the Caribbean, Central America and the perimeter of South America in Vanderbilt’s Sikorsky S-43 seaplane, from January 18 to February 11, 1937.

Vanderbilt privately published a book about the journey, Flying Lanes – Being the Journal of a Flight Around South America and Over the Andes.

Entertainment will be by Los Cintron with flamenco dancer Juana Cala. Popular around the world, the Cintron Brothers – who play a mix of World, Latin and Flamenco music – are known as the greatest Gypsy Kings tribute band. Their guitars, vocals and melodies, set to enchanting rhythms, evoke the traditional sounds of Andalusia, and their beloved Spain. Los Cintron have performed for kings and queens, celebrities and presidents.
