Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA) is a collegial network of the region’s not-for-profit arts and arts education organizations, promoting awareness of and participation in Long Island’s world-class arts and cultural institutions. LIAA offers diverse support services to member organizations, serves as an advocate for arts education in our schools and collaborates on strategies for economic development and community revitalization.
Arts Alive LI, speaks to the heart of LIAA’s mission to showcase Long Island’s world-class arts and culture. Arts Alive LI is presented by the Long Island Arts Alliance and is supported by a grant awarded to the Long Island Arts Alliance by New York State’s Empire State Development and the I ♥ NY Division of Tourism under Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Council Initiative.
Throughout Arts Month, Long Islanders and visitors alike will experience some of the greatest artists and performers of our time, many of whom have called Long Island home. Regional arts councils collaborate to create an entire month of programs, tours and events. Entire communities are planning the year’s most outstanding food and street festivals, featuring performing and visual artists celebrating the cultural diversity of Long Island. Many events take place simultaneously, so that from Western Nassau to the tips of Suffolk’s East End, thousands will discover, as they journey to exhibition spaces, museums, theaters, historic venues, festivals and other gathering places, why Long Island is one of the strongest cultural destinations in the country.
