Four Freedoms Educator
Part-time/Seasonal
seeks a Four Freedoms Educator to join the organization between the months of February and September 2014. The Four Freedoms Educator will develop and implement hands-on workshops for school groups and families. Four Freedoms Park’s arts-integrated workshops will be grounded in President Roosevelt’s legacy and the Four Freedoms, providing a platform for young people to engage in challenging dialogue about themes of democracy, design, art, culture, social justice, and community. The Park will serve as a catalyst for this exploration and dialogue. for information.
New York Sea Grant
is currently accepting applications for four Mentor Teachers for this year’s Long Island Sound Mentor Teacher program in New York. Pairs of teachers from each of the following grade level subsets are encouraged to apply: K-8 and 9-12. Each grade level specific pair will work together to plan and execute a professional development session for their peers that will be conducted in New York. There is funding for each pair to provide an outdoor component as part of the session. Each teacher will receive a stipend ($25.00/hour for 40 hours = $1,000 stipend per teacher) and Long Island Sound resources for you and your classroom!
The Long Island Sound Mentor Teacher (LISMT) program, now in its fourth year in New York, is sponsored by New York Sea Grant and funded by the EPA Long Island Sound Study. The program goals are to promote the use of Long Island Sound educational resources, and to promote the interdisciplinary use of the Long Island Sound watershed and its resources in K-12 classrooms.

Summary: The Day Camp Counselor reports directly to the Day Camp Director and is responsible for the supervision and education of all camp participants. Counselor will be responsible for the daily administration of the Summer Camp Program, including: daily curriculum and teaching activities, ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants, administering games, crafts and other activities, daily attendance and drop off/pick up paperwork and providing daily feedback to the Camp Director. Must maintain a fun and safe environment for the participants. Additionally, helps Director to supervise the Counselors-in ?Training. This position can possibly fill a college internship requirement.

Requirements: Must be at least 16 years (preferably 18) or older. Maintain current Adult and Child CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications (provided during training). Must be available to work Mondays – Fridays, 8:30am- 4:30pm from week of June 23rd – August 29th (last week negotiable for college students). Must pass a background check. Must be able to attend mandatory training sessions-times to be announced.
