Navigating the Sands Point Preserve

9:15 to 10:30 a.m.

Ages 8+

How did Columbus discover America? Become an explorer at the Sands Point Preserve and navigate your way to fun discoveries on the grounds! Two exciting courses of discovery await participants age 8 and up: 1) North/South/East/West navigation and 2) a more advanced path using degree readings. Bring a compass (or borrow one of ours) or use your smartphone app. Instruction will be provided. Admission: $10 per car or free with Annual Pass . Pre-registration is required by emailing your name and the number of adults and children (with their ages) to [email protected].

Giant Indoor Earth Balloon

Four Sessions – 11:00 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m.

Ages 4+

Imagine a 19-foot inflated model of the earth made of actual photographs of our planet! See the vast oceans and great continents in a view that only space travelers can see. The 30-minute presentation features a walk around the globe, Columbus’ travel route, and an adventure inside the globe. Stay for a geographical craft project.

Admission: $20 per car or $10 with Annual Pass – includes the Navigating the Preserve program at 9:15 a.m.  Pre-registration is required with a $10 non-refundable deposit per family.
