The Friends of Cedarmere will host Dance Visions NY in an exciting ‘Eve of Halloween’ celebration at Cedarmere, the historic home of poet, journalist and civic leader William Cullen Bryant. With both classical and contemporary dance as well as live music, narration and visual art projections, this special program is an immersion in worlds of the imagination and of the divine: of spirits and conjurers, of mythic characters and apparitions. Included is Isadora Duncan’s ground-breaking “Dance of the Furies” to Gluck’s Orpheus in the Underworld, as well as original dance works of Beth Jucovy, hand-picked and tailored for this unique holiday.

Running continuously throughout the evening—before, during and after the shows–will be an old-fashioned ‘Frills & Chills’ Halloween Party deluxe in the Old Gothic Mill, complimentary for all ticket holders.

Ticket price is $25 per person, with Friends’ proceeds to benefit the ongoing Mill Restoration.
Seating is limited to 35 per show. Halloween costumes optional, but encouraged.

is Long Island’s celebrated dance company that presents the authentic Isadora Duncan repertory as well as contemporary works that often use Duncan principles to inform the movement approach. Originally founded in 1990 by Artistic Director Beth Jucovy, and a not-for-profit organization since 2011, the company has presented award-winning programs extensively throughout the metropolitan area and beyond. Dance Visions NY brings pure dance works, dance/theater works and narrated, educational programs to local and wider audiences. Often works are site-specific or tailored for particular venues or audiences, as on this occasion in Cedarmere’s beautiful Great Room.
