Curated by Kristy L. Caratzola, the Museum’s former collections manager, this original exhibition features iconic imagery captured by a selection of innovative modernist and contemporary female photographers, including Berenice Abbott, Diane Arbus, Marilyn Bridges, Nancy Burson, Imogen Cunningham, Donna Ferrato, Toni Frissell, Mary Ellen Mark, and Dorothy Norman.
This exhibition is offered in association with the 17th Berkshire Conference on the History of Women, Genders, and Sexualities to be held at Hofstra University June 1-4, 2017.
Gallery Hours
Tuesday – Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday, Noon – 4:00 p.m.
Additional specialized programming offered in conjunction with the exhibition includes:
February through May – 1:30-2:30 p.m., families with children ages 5-10 may create their own works of art during Second Saturdays at the Hofstra University Museum Emily Lowe Gallery. Themed topics include: Balance It!; Tell It!; Model It! Advance registration is
required. Program fees: $7 per child per session when prepaid ($9 when paid day of the program); $12 per child for two sessions prepaid; $18 per child for three sessions prepaid; $21 for all FOUR sessions prepaid.
