Fifty-­‐eight women artists’ work will be on exhibit at the Bloomingdale’s Furniture Gallery in Roosevelt Field Mall in honor of National Women’s History Month. “Women Of The World: Think Big!” is an art and photography collective curated by Jill Rader Levine and presented by and . An Artists’ Reception will launch the exhibit on Thursday, March 12 from 6-­‐8 pm, and visitors to the Furniture Gallery can enjoy the exhibit until April 6.

Roni Chastain’s contributions to the “Women Of The World: Think Big” exhibit include selections from her recent travels to Iceland, Africa, Cuba and Portugal. Ms. Chastain’s work reveals her eye for architecture and talent for capturing unique moments. Her passion for photography spans four decades. Roni is featured as the March Artist of the Month.

Jill Rader Levine’s “Women Of The World: Think Big!” was invited to be on exhibit as part of a new collaboration between Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA) and Bloomingdale’s, which offers area artists exhibit space and creates an interesting and diverse collection of new art to grace the walls of the Bloomingdale’s Furniture Gallery of Roosevelt Field Mall. “Bloomingdale’s is thrilled to honor and celebrate National Women’s History Month with such special local partners,” says Anne Keating, Bloomingdale’s Senior Vice President of Public Relations, Special Events and Corporate Philanthropy. Theresa Statz-­‐Smith, Executive Director of Long Island Arts Alliance says, “the Alliance works to support our region’s arts and arts education organizations, but also our local artists. Gallery space is at a premium on Long Island and we’re thrilled to partner with Bloomingdale’s and Jill Rader Levine in this important exhibit.”

Those attending the Artists’ Reception on March 12 from 6-­‐8 pm will also be treated to a musical performance courtesy the . Performers include Anastasia Golenishcheva on cello, Alexander Anisimov on violin and Boris Blagoev, also on violin. LICM consists of internationally trained faculty members who have obtained their Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from world-­‐renowned institutions. LICM has become one of the most professionally developed performing music schools on Long Island. “LICM’s ultimate responsibility and goal is to foster the finest young professionals who will be recognized wherever they perform as musicians”, says Patti Schust, Executive Director of LICM.

Other exhibits planned in 2015 include the second annual Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit in September 2015. These exhibits are part of the Arts Alive LI initiative of the Long Island Arts Alliance to shine a spotlight on the region’s arts and culture.
