Long Island, America’s 1950s Frontier will speed visitors back to this region’s most important postwar decade.

In the 1950s, Long Island led the country in population growth, thanks to trend-setting suburbs like Levittown and new ribbons of highway.  Long Island was also a microcosm of America in these years, experiencing change on every front, from Civil Rights to teenage rebellion.
